Job Summary:
In this senior leadership role, the Head of Card Department will be responsible for leading the bank’s card business strategy, including both issuing and acquiring. The required professional shall also be accountable for ensuring innovation, compliance and customer-centric solutions in line with the market developments and international standards.
Job Description:
Head of Card Department is responsible for:
- Lead and oversee the Cards Department covering issuing (credit and debit cards) and acquiring (ATM, POS, E-commerce).
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the institution's cards and cards payment related services, aligning them with the organization's overall business objectives.
- Manage relationships with the international payment schemes like Visa, Mastercard etc. and key partners.
- Streamline and automate cards payments related processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize errors.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.
- Drive innovation and digital transformation in payments solutions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, scheme rules and security standards and implement measures to mitigate risks.
- Monito business performance, profitability, risk management and customer satisfaction. Provide reporting for the area under responsibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Operations, Marketing, Branch Network etc. to align cards related initiatives with broader organizational goals.
- Lead and manage the cards team providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative work environment to achieve high performance.
Competencies / Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in cards and payments with leadership responsibility, for at least 3+ years.
- In-depth knowledge of issuing, acquiring and digital payment trends.
- Excellent relationship management with international cards schemes and fintech partners.
- Analytic, strategic and result-oriented mindset.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
