First Investment Bank – Albania, a rapidly growing commercial bank, is looking to hire a qualified individual for the position of:

 

Database Administrator (DBA) in IT Department

Job Description:

 

Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for:

 

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle databases.
  • Monitor database availability, performance, and storage usage.
  • Perform routine database administration tasks.
  • Assist in backup, recovery, and restore operations.
  • Support database security management (users, roles, access control).
  • Support application teams with basic database-related tasks and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in database patching, upgrades, and migration activities under supervision.
  • Maintain operational documentation and procedures.
  • Provide second-level support for database-related incidents.
  • Work closely with Senior DBAs, Infrastructure, and Application teams.

 

Competencies / Skills:

 

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2–4+ years of professional experience as an Oracle DBA or in database administration roles.
  • Good working knowledge of Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c).
  • Good knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Basic to intermediate experience with backup and recovery using RMAN.
  • Basic experience in database performance monitoring and tuning.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Linux and basic shell scripting is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of database security (users, roles, privileges).
  • Familiarity with high availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery concepts is an advantage.
  • Knowledge or experience with other RDBMS platforms such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL is considered an advantage.
  • Prior experience in the financial or banking sector is an advantage.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good command of English.
  • Ability to work independently under guidance and as part of a team
